Welcome to my Paradise!

I have always imagined that Paradise for me will be a kind of library or into the realm of a fantasy world. Yet a thought kept sweeping in and out of my mind since last few months. Why not go digital and connect with other Bookaholics and share my favorites with them as well. Hence, here I am unleashing my obsession of books through my posts; creating a digital paradise for me instead of a physical or a fantasy one.

My Name is Avleen and if you have ever been devoured by a book you have come to the right place. If not already, hurry to the closest bookstore and grab one. Make sure to read the ‘back cover’ carefully before investing your emotions in it.  

                                                                     

What kind of books fascinate me?

I have always been intrigued by fiction; sitting within the 4 walls of my home, in a compfy little corner, mind wandering into another exciting world full of heart-pounding adventures. From wanting to board the Hogwarts Express to reach my school; to slipping through the back of my wardrobe and disappearing off to Narnia, where magic exists. I have had all these fetishes. I would have loved to be teleported to Middle Earth to meet the elves or to the land of Oz to see the flying monkeys and meet horses that change color like chameleons or to fight pirates and meet tinker bell in Never-land or just stumble into a hole in the garden and find wonderland in the center of the Earth. 

As a young teenager, I became more inclined towards Romance novels followed by Crime fiction, Thriller, Mystery and Adventure later on. Sidney Sheldon and Dan Brown still keep me hooked but I have now started reading a few Business and self-help books too. Autobiographies and Biographies were always a charm; to sit in the passenger’s seat of a person’s life and re-live their journey through our minds.

I have always felt an instant connection with the characters of the book. I’ve always found them to be more real then the people who surround me, not understanding me or really looking deeply into who I am. 

How I wish ‘The Anywhere Door’ is invented before the time machine or the Mars expedition. (I hope Elon Musk is reading this post; finger’s crossed). One can only hope.
